Language club meeting -03.07.2010

 

   
     

English and Tamil clubs conducted the inaugurated  on for this 2010-2011 academic year on 03.07.2010. All the students and staff attended the meeting. The meeting began with a prayer at 2.00 pm in our auditorium. Mrs.R.Rajeswari, Headmistress presided over the function.

 Ms.P.Thilagavathi AHM delivered the welcome address. We have distinguished chief guests from Enland Mr.Clive Dove and his daughter Ms.Katie, who were on mission to help the school children. Mr.Clive, in co-ordination with "Good Will Foundation" donated Portable DVD Player and 50 Educational CDs on health and hygiene, to our school. In his speech he appealed to the students to help at least one person in a day in whatever way is possible to them. VIII-B Students M.Muthuselvi and Rajya Sri sang a song about a tree. Muthuselvi VIII-B gave a talk about the use of trees. Vennila IX-D narrated a story with a moral. C.Manikandaprabhu-XII-A1 emphasized the value of books and how they help man to elevate himself in life. Ms.Abirami P.G.English Teacher, in her special address narrated incidents from Bernard Shaw's life to prove his genius.

This was followed by Tamil events. P.Jansirani XII-A spoke about friendship in Kambaramayana. The chief guest of the day Ms.Sornalatha M.A., M.Ed., is speech made the students spell-bound. She advised the students to be good students and good citizens who can create a good universe.

Her humorous talk, filled with episodes from her school experience, kindled their enthusiasm to be more active in all their school activities. Ms.R.Vaigai proposed vote of thanks. the meeting came to an end with National Anthem by 4.15. p.m.

Maths club meeting -10.07.2010

 

   
     

Maths club conducted its inaugural meeting for this academic year on 10.07.2010, in our auditorium. All the students and staff attended the meeting. Our HM Ms.R.Rajeswari presided over the meeting. After prayer Mr.D.Packiyaraj Maths teacher, welcomed the gathering.

Ms.Malathi, Maths teacher, gave a lecture on “Maths genius”. She interestingly narrated various incidents from the life of genius. P.Susitha VIII – C spoke about ‘Pythagoras”.  J.Gnanasoundari VIII – C gave a talk about ‘Baskarachariyar’. P.Rajavinitha X-D narrated Ramanujar’s findings. J.Suryarekha IX-D explained the role of Indians  in the field of Mathematics.

A quiz Programme was conducted by Ms.Kalaivani Maths teacher. Questions were asked in five rounds for the four groups, each containing four students. With the vote of thanks by Ms.P.Krishnaveni and National anthem, the meeting, came to an end by 4.30 pm.

   
             
     

Kamarajar Birth Anniversary  - Literacy Development Day -16.07.2010

   
             
     

Kamarajar’s birth anniversary was celebrated as literacy development day on 15.07.2010 at 9.00 am, in our auditorium.  Our HM Ms.R.Rajeswari presided over the function. She enumerated the divine qualities of Kamarajar which made him  a great leader.

      Three students spoke about Kamarajar’s simplicity, hospitality, Vision and leadership qualities. Mr.Muralikrishnan, our science teacher, elaborately talked about the unique and versatile qualities which elevated Kamarajar as a ‘ King Maker’ and a pole star in the field of Indian politics.

Prizes were distributed to the winners in the competitions, conducted for literacy development day. Mr.P.Subburaj proposed vote of thanks. The function ended with National anthem at 10.15 am.

Ashram Annual Day-Special Inter School Competition - 16.07.2010

   
     

As part of our 101st Founder’s anniversary and 70th ashram anniversary day celebrations, inter school competitions were conducted on 16.07.2010 in our school. Totally 198 students from eighteen schools in Usilampatti educational district participated in all the six competitions. The competitions were Elocution, Essay writing, Poetry composition, Drawing, Music and special individual talents. Three judges were appointed for each competition,  two from other schools and one from GNGVHSS.

Twenty percent of the competitors were from our school. All the competitors were well received in the auditorium and they were registered. By 9.45 am they were sent to their respective venue with the volunteers. Seating arrangements and water provision were done in advance. Competitions started at 10.00 am. Elocution, Music and special talent competitions went on up to 1.00 pm. Refreshments were provided for all the participants and judges at 11.00 am. Lunch was provided for other school participants and staff.

 First three places were selected by the judges, consolidating their scores. Our students bagged various prizes in all competitions except in Music. All our staff, carried out their allotted duties, earnestly and enthusiastically on the day. The mega event was a great success owing to their great efforts.
