Dr.B.Chitra, a leading gynaechologist from Rajapalayam readily accepted our invitation to address our girl students and illuminate them on personal health and hygiene. Girls from IX std to XII std had the privilege to attend the meeting. In spite of the heavy intermittent rains, the meeting was held in the auditorium as scheduled at 4.00 pm. Dr.Chitra, initially motivated the girls saying that they were the most fortunate and stronger sex contrast to the maxim that women are weaker sex. She then elaborately explained the general ailments during the adolescent period. She advised the girls to take proper diet, because it was the lack of diet which leads to many diseases. She also advised them to take bath twice in a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, after returning home from school. Frequent hand washing will also prevent them from dust – borne diseases. Dr.Chitra has brought some models to demonstrate the growth of maturity and inner organs of a female. The session was very useful. Many girls came out with a lot of doubts about their teen-age-problems. Dr.Chitra gave them all a very good illustrious and convincing reply. Some of the girls found satisfying solutinceons to their long – pending problems. In spite of her heavy schedule Dr.Chitra has allotted time to visit us and counsel our girls. We are very grateful to her for her devotion and dedication. |

| Bagrith Celebration | ||||||||||
|
Being a true Gandhian institution our Ashram celebrates all the national and religious festivals. To bring home the message that all religions are equal and to create religious tolerance and harmony among students, Bagrith was celebrated on 27.11.2009. After the inter-religious community prayer in the morning, Mr.Sheik Mehaboob P.G.Maths teacher from SKV Hr.Sec.School, Pappunaikanpatti, delivered a talk about Islam and its philosophies. He enlightened the students saying that “ The All Mighty Power” which is omnipresent and omnipotent is called God. God is one though the ways we follow to reach Him is different. Religions should teach tolerance and brotherhood. Bagrith is a day of celebration to mark the supreme sacrifice. We must share our boons and bounties with our friends, relatives and the poor around us. Amassing wealth, without – caring for others is a sin. He appealed to the students to help the needy, as much as they can. India is a nation of unity in diversity. We must be proud to be the citizens of this multi cultural, multilingual but unique country. Mrs.P.Thilagavathi gave the welcome address. Mr.Kaja Mohaideen proposed vote of thanks. |
